Sheffield United are looking to wrap up a deal for Villarreal striker Ben Brereton-Diaz in the next few days.
Reports surfaced yesterday to claim Brereton-Diaz would be on his way to Bramall Lane. The Chile international has struggled over in Spain and is open to a move back to England in January.
United are thought to be moving quickly to get the deal done. Indeed, Brereton-Diaz was even tipped to fly over late last night to put the finishing touches on the deal.

However, while the striker will join on loan, it doesn’t look like there’ll be any sort of buy clause included in the deal.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, United are going for a straight loan for Brereton-Diaz. He suggests that Leeds remain keen on the striker as well and if they go up, they could make another move for him in the summer.
Chris Wilder moving quick to sort out Sheffield United issues with Ben Brereton-Diaz deal
The Sheffield United boss said a week ago he wanted to get things moving quickly in January and it looks like that’s what is happening.
Benie Traore is moving out, while it looks like incomings are being looked at early doors.
Brereton-Diaz is better than most, if not all, the striking options we currently have in the side. Crucially as well, he can play off the left-hand side and gives Wilder the option of using both Brereton-Diaz, McBurnie and Cam Archer in the same XI, as well as James McAtee.
The Chilean international has not had a good time in Spain but he has scored goals on these shores. He netted 40 times in the past two seasons and certainly knows where the net is.
Linked with a £15m move to Everton last year, Brereton-Diaz is an obvious upgrade for United right now.
Hopefully, this one gets over the line and Wilder can then focus on other targets.
