Local journalist Andy Giddings says Arsenal yet to approach United over Ramsdale, amid reports

The continued daily saga surrounding Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale has taken yet more twists and turns today, according to differing reports.

Football.London claimed this afternoon that Ramsdale was in ‘advanced talks’ to sign for Arsenal. They suggest a deal is near, with the Gunners set to pay £24m and then add-ons for the United stopper. The total deal would be worth around £30m to the Blades.

However, following on from that report, local BBC Sheffield journalist and reporter, Andy Giddings, offered contradicting views on the matter.

Giddings took to Twitter to provide his own update, which suggests there has been no fresh approach whatsoever from Arsenal as yet.

Quite interestingly, respected transfer guru and journalist Fabrizio Romano also hit the ‘like’ button on Giddings’ tweet. Romano, as many people know, is usually pretty up to speed with the biggest transfers.

Ramsdale was left out of the United squad to face Carlisle last night. But manager Slavisa Jokanovic insisted it was nothing to do with an up and coming move.

As has been the case so much in the last few weeks, it seems like the Ramsdale to Arsenal saga will rumble on that bit longer.

Arsenal proving a nightmare to deal with

This is all getting a bit silly now. Arsenal are seemingly haggling over a few million pounds. That is fine, but this is a Premier League club who has just paid £50m for Ben White.

If they want Ramsdale, then pay the money. All this is doing is causing disruption and frustration among both sets of supporters.
