Sheffield United pulled off the most dramatic of comebacks to beat Blackburn Rovers today and book a trip to Wembley.
A late stunner from Tommy Doyle ensured the Blades made it to the semi-final, where they will now face Manchester City, or the winners of either Brighton v Grimsby or Manchester United v Fulham.
It was a breathtaking affair at The Lane. Blackburn looked like they were going to do enough to win the game but Oli McBurnie equalised with a well-taken effort with his left foot.

Then, right as the clock ticked into injury time, Tommy Doyle struck a stunner from 25 yards to send the Kop and the rest of Bramall Lane into raptures.
And watching on for the BBC, former Sheffield United midfielder Michael Brown couldn’t believe what he’d seen.

“Imagine the feeling. He’s just hit a strike like that. We were asking ‘is there going to be a chance?’ He has no right,” Brown lauded on the BBC.
Sheffield United News View: Wow, just wow
Just when it looked like things were heading into extra-time, we see Tommy Doyle produce a worldie we simply aren’t that accustomed to seeing at The Lane.
Sure, we score a lot of goals. But blockbusters like that are rare and Doyle’s strike will live long in the memory bank.
On the whole, it was a superb cup tie and United did well to edge it in the end. Doyle’s strike will grab the headlines, but overall, United’s squad showed what they are all about today with resilience, fight, and a never say die attitude.
