Lys Mousset was named man of the match for his performance against Manchester United.

The striker scored a superb second goal for Sheffield United in the 3-3 draw at Bramall Lane. Mousset was also crucial in the opener, muscling Phil Jones off the ball before setting up John Lundstram. When his initial shot was saved, John Fleck followed up.

It was the latest fine display from the Frenchman following a summer move from Bournemouth. Mousset now has four goals and three assists in the Premier League this season.

So his man of the match award was fitting. Yet the club waited until the opening of their new store in Meadowhall a day later to present the gong to the 23-year-old.

As can be seen in the video below, young Blades fan Amelia was chosen to present Mousset with his prize. And in a touching moment, the forward immediately says she can keep it.

Amelia is clearly emotional after the gesture, while she has her picture taken with Mousset – as well as manager Chris Wilder, captain Billy Sharp and George Baldock.

In the comments below the video, Amelia’s mum appears to have thanked the club for “making my daughter’s year”.

Mousset has already become a firm fans’ favourite at the Blades and has formed a fine striker partnership with David McGoldrick.

This latest act will only endear him to the supporters even more.
