Premier League record goalscorer, Alan Shearer, has named two Blades players in his Team of the Season so far.

The Match of the Day pundit has been impressed with United this term. He’s already praised Chris Wilder and his team this season after watching the Blades rise to fifth in the Premier League table.
Shearer now works for the official Premier League website. On a regular basis, he gives his opinion on teams of the week and star players.
However, with three months of the season now gone, Shearer has gone a step further and named his Team of the Season so far.
And it makes good reading for Blades fans. Shearer has selected defensive pair, John Egan and Dean Henderson.
MORE UNITED STORIES

Goalkeeper Henderson leads the clean-sheets table alongside Ederson and Kasper Schmeichel. Egan, on the other hand, has helped United to the second meanest defence in the league. The Blades has only conceded nine goals all season.
Egan completes a back four for Shearer that contains both Liverpool full-backs. His partner at the middle of the defence is Leicester City star, Caglar Soyuncu.
Who else might Shearer have selected?
Midfielder, John Lundstram, has been in the Team of the Week on more than one occasion this term. But for the form of the likes of James Maddison and Sadio Mane, there’s every chance he’d be in there.
Enda Stevens and George Baldock have both been excellent, although there can be little argument against the Liverpool duo.

Other than that, it’s a tough ask to say more Blades players should be in there. The Premier League is the best league in the world with some of the best players. The fact United even have two in here, is a nod to how well they are doing.
Alan Shearer is at least one pundit who is respecting the Blades. If Chris Wilder’s men can keep it up, then they might end up with a few in the actual Team of the Season come the end of May.
