There was more success for the Sheffield United academy this weekend as youngster Oliver Arblaster made his England under-18s bow in dramatic fashion.
Having missed out in the first game of three during the break, Arblaster was given the nod from the start last night for the Young Lions. The teenager was given the call into the England set-up for the first time and received a glowing reference from Blades coach, Jack Lester, at the time.
Arblaster got this moment last night though, being given a starting berth as England took on fellow European giants, Belgium. And despite the game ending 0-0, Arblaster ensured his debut finished positively as the Young Lions won out on penalties.
And while the youngster didn’t take a penalty, he was still delighted to make his debut and took to Twitter to show his gratitude after the game.

Arblaster will now be hoping to kick on at both England and United level after this debut. It’s clearly given him the buzz and taste for more.
Of course, that can only be a good thing for Sheffield United Football Club.
Our View: Arblaster a feel good story that the club needs
Being frank and honest, matters at first-team level at the moment are miserable. Fans are getting agitated, and results on the pitch are just not what they should be.
However, it’s always nice to keep in the loop with an aspiring youth set-up and it seems in Oliver Arblaster, we have another one to keep a very close eye on.
It’s great to see Arblaster representing United on the big stage with England under-18s. Hopefully, there is more to come from him.
Like so many United youngsters, Arblaster will be hoping to make a big impression at The Lane in the coming seasons. At the moment, the squad is a tough one to break into. But with so many out of contract in the summer and changes coming, doors might just swing open sooner, rather than later.
