Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he’s likely to be without star goalkeeper Alisson Becker for a few games.

Alisson hobbled off at the end of the clash with Manchester City and there were fears that the Brazilian might be missing for months.

However, it seems things aren’t as bad as Liverpool or Klopp feared. Although, it appears Alisson will be among the Liverpool players who are set to miss the game with Sheffield United next week.

The Reds travel to Bramall Lane next Wednesday as they look to become the latest side to inflict misery on Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

Jurgen Klopp confirms Alisson Becker injury news

Speaking to the press ahead of this week’s Europa League fixture, Klopp admitted Alisson would be out for a few weeks.

“With Ali, it’s a bit lesser so we have to see. Not day by day, cannot play tomorrow or Sunday. Probably not the week after then be OK. No [it’s not as bad as feared]. Bad enough,” Klopp said.

Sheffield United need all the help they can get

A midweek game under the lights at a cold Bramall Lane is probably as good a chance United would have at beating Liverpool, in terms of the atmosphere that’s in place.

Now, with £66m man Alisson and Diogo Jota both out as well, it looks like there’s a few more reasons to be cheerful for United fans.

However, that doesn’t mean that things will be easy in anyway shape or form. Liverpool could steamroll United with ease in all honesty and the way things are going, it won’t matter who is in goal for the Reds.

But, the Blades will look for any sort of minor boost and not seeing the world’s best goalkeeper in the sticks is bound to boost the United players.

With Burnley this weekend and then Liverpool and Brentford in quick succession, it could be a massive week for Heckingbottom and his team.
