Sheffield United ground out a fifth win of the season as they saw off Brighton at Bramall Lane this evening to restore some element of pride.
The Blades had David McGoldrick to thank for the win. The experienced striker pouncing on a deflected Rhian Brewster block to fire into an almost empty goal.
Paul Heckingbottom again went with a slightly different shape. He deployed Ben Osborn in a roaming midfield role, and the former Nottingham Forest man put in another excellent shift.
Osborn has had to wait for his opportunities in the main this season but slowly but surely, he’s becoming a bit of a cult hero at The Lane.

Indeed, tonight, plenty of United fans were singing the praises of Osborn on social media. In fairness to him as well, that praise was justified. He was buzzing about all over the pitch and was a useful third man in attack alongside Brewster and McGoldrick.
With that being said, Twitter was full of comments praising Osborn’s performance. Here, then, is a look at what United fans had to say about the combative midfielder.

Ben Osborn could be a big player for dem blades next season if he’s played, I’ve being saying all season he should be playing on right side opposite fleck . Runs box to box and got a bit of Sheffield steel about him . Will grab a few goals in championship 👍
