The Blades lost out at Man City to finally surrender their unbeaten away record in the Premier League.
Despite looking like they had taken the lead through Lys Mousset, VAR once again overruled a Blades goal. It was the sixth goal to be disallowed by VAR for United this season. Furthermore, John Fleck was then impeded by Chris Kavanagh as Sergio Aguero fired in the opener for the home side.

Mousset had another fine chance in the first half, and Billy Sharp hit a post late on, but it was not to be for Chris Wilder’s team.
However, it was a fine shift from the Blades. They kept up with one of the best teams in the Premier League and, on another day, could have easily taken all three points.
With John Fleck leading the way, here’s how we rated the performances of the Sheffield United players tonight…
MORE UNITED STORIES
Dean Henderson – 7
Could do nothing for either goal but made a smart save from Phil Foden late on to keep the score down.
George Baldock – 7
Quieter than normal but was expected given the City players on show. Dealt admirably with Raheem Sterling throughout.
Jack O’Connell – 8
Brilliant at the back with some timely blocks and excellent reading of the game. Dealt with the brilliant Mahrez quite well too.
Chris Basham – 7
Another solid display from Basham who put his body on the line once again.
John Egan – 8
Once more, brilliant at the back. Blocked, tackled, and threw himself in front of everything he could.

Enda Stevens – 7
Looked closer to his normal self after a quieter few games of late. Caused City lots of problems in the first half especially.
Ollie Norwood – 8
Played well and was back to his best with his passing. A number of fine balls and nearly had an assist had Mousset not fluffed his lines.
John Fleck – 9.5 (MOTM)
Simply sublime from Fleck. Kevin De Bruyne was excellent but Fleck matched him throughout. The finest performance of any player in red and white all this season.

Mo Besic – 7
Worked hard and did nothing wrong. Lashed a volley over when perhaps could have done better.
Callum Robinson – 7
Like Besic, did his chances no harm. Full of running and clearly knew his role in the team. Held the ball up well too at times.
Lys Mousset – 8
Another fine display from Mousset. Pace is electric and on another day might have had a hat-trick. Will be disappointed not to take the second one on one chance.
Subs
David McGoldrick, Oli McBurnie, Billy Sharp – 6
All played their part as City eventually sealed the win. All three showed nice touches at times and Chris Wilder has a selection headache for Anfield in a few days time.
