West Ham United could be withouth five key players for the visit of Sheffield United on Monday evening in the Premier League.

The Hammers are suffering a mini injury crisis it seems, and could be without a quintet of key stars, including former Sheffield Wednesday man, Michail Antonio.

Antonio is said to be a worry for the Hammers after leaving the field against Manchester United with apparent ‘fatigue’. However, some believe the former Nottingham Forest star has picked up another knock.

In addition to Antonio, Andriy Yarmolenko also left the field injured, while in defence, there is a big worry for David Moyes. All three of Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop, and Fabian Balbuena could miss out.

Meanwhile, the Blades may have some welcome news of their own rather than adding to the injury problems. Both wing-backs, George Baldock and Enda Stevens could well be back. Although, in fairness, Baldock faces a tough task if he is dislodged Jayden Bogle on the right.

Chris Wilder will, no doubt, provide more details in his pre-match presser this week.

West Ham have injury problems but the Blades need all the help they can get

While this isn’t a game United should necessarily fear, it is a game that will be tougher than a lot of people probably expect.

The Hammers are in the top six and have some fine players in the ranks. Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek have been standing out, while Antonio has been immense at the top of the pitch as well.

If Antonio is missing then it’s a huge plus for the Blades, while if the likes of Ogbonna are missing, that should encourage strikers like Oli McBurnie and David McGoldrick on the day.

United need three points really. A point will be a good result, but at the moment, only wins will do it seems.
