It’s a must win game for Sheffield United today as they host Reading at Bramall Lane looking to kickstart their Easter programme with a big three points.
The Blades have put themselves in a fine position when it comes to the race for the top six and can tighten their grip on a playoff place by seeing off Paul Ince’s Royals. United’s home form has been a staple of their success, and they are unbeaten since October at The Lane.
Manager, Paul Heckingbottom, has more players to choose from than in recent weeks and with a squad getting back to being as fully-fit as it can be at the moment, ‘Hecky’ must decide who he fancies to see off Reading today.
Sheffield United Team News
The big news is that Chris Basham and Billy Sharp are both pushing for a return to the squad. Sharp’s comeback is likely to be a few games away. However, there is hope that Basham could be involved in some way after making a full return to training this week.

Filip Uremovic will likely get the nod from the off, but Basham could be included on the bench at least.
Further up the field, Iliman Ndiaye played and scored for the 23s in midweek and he will be hoping to get some involvement in today’s game. Likewise, Oli McBurnie will hope for another chance from the start after playing well against Bournemouth.
Predicted Blades XI v Reading
We don’t see much in the way of changes to the first XI here. Rhys Norrington-Davies could be rotated with Enda Stevens, but apart from that, we think it’s going to be the same as against Bournemouth.
This is a huge game for United and a winnable one as well. It’s set up for big players like Morgan Gibbs-White and Sander Berge to make their mark. Heckingbottom, then, will hope his big hitters are at the races.
