Sheffield United v Norwich City: Team news and form guide ahead of tomorrow

Sheffield United take on Norwich City this weekend as the Blades look to continue their march towards a European place.

Following on from their FA Cup win over Reading in midweek, the Blades will be keen to pick up a Premier League win. A draw last time out at Bramall Lane has left United five points adrift of the Champions League places.

Norwich, on the other hand, come into the game revitalised. Daniel Farke’s men have picked up of late and after looking dead and buried, have a very realistic chance of staying up.

United ran out 2-1 winners at Carrow Road earlier in the season. Goals from Enda Stevens and George Baldock were enough to see the Blades complete a brilliant comeback win against the Canaries.

So, ahead of another crucial Premier League fixture, we took a look at the everything you need to know.

Team news

Sheffield United have no injury concerns after Chris Wilder confirmed both John Fleck and Enda Stevens are fully fit.

Wilder has a selection decision to make up front. Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick both scored in midweek to enhance their chances of being handed a start this weekend.

For Norwich, they have a number of injuries. Timm Klose, Sam Byram and Christoph Zimmerman are all missing. However, Emiliano Buendia is fit and could start, while Teemu Pukki should return after missing out against Spurs.

Form guide

The Blades have lost just once in six games since losing to Liverpool and Man City at the turn of the year. That one defeat, coincidentally, came against City again.

Wins against Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, and West Ham have come in that time.

For Norwich, they have picked up considerably of late. They lost only 1-0 to Liverpool and beat Leicester last weekend. They also picked up a 2-1 win at Burnley in the FA Cup before seeing off Spurs on penalties in midweek.

Norwich face a crucial run of games before the end of the season which sees them play Watford, West Ham, and Brighton.

Ref watch

Simon Hooper is once again the man in charge for this one. He reffed the corresponding fixture at Carrow Road in December.

That day was a big one for Hooper. He overturned a red card for United defender, Chris Basham.

Predicted line-ups

Sheffield United – Henderson, Baldock, Basham, Egan, O’Connell, Stevens, Fleck, Norwood, Berge, Sharp, McBurnie

Norwich City – Krul, Aarons, Hanley, Godfrey, Lewis, McClean, Cantwell, Buendia, Tettey, Duda, Pukki

A tough game…but one United can win

This is a game the Blades will be looking to pick up three points from. There is a simmering rivalry between the clubs given last season so it should be a good atmosphere at Bramall Lane.

However, Daniel Farke’s men shouldn’t be underestimated. Playing teams battling for points at the bottom is never easy so Chris Wilder will want his team to be well up for the task at hand.

But United should have enough in the locker if they can limite Pukki’s service. A win would be massive for either club but the Blades might just sneak it in this one.

Prediction – Blades 1-0 Norwich
