Another weekend, and another chance for Sheffield United to try and get a win on the board, this time, against Graham Potter’s Brighton.
Paul Heckingbottom has spoken this week of the pressure being off in terms of relegation. But Hecky doesn’t want tools to be downed, and insists United’s players are playing for futures, reputations, and points.
The visit of Brighton represents a very winnable game for the Blades. Yes, the Seagulls are all but safe now themselves, but they can be got at, despite consecutive clean sheets at Liverpool and Chelsea.
Last season, Chris Wilder’s Blades got the better of Brighton. Oli McBurnie sealed a win away, while an Enda Stevens thunderbolt ensured a home point.
This weekend, Paul Heckingbottom must again pick from an injury ravaged squad. McBurnie, Billy Sharp, and Chris Basham are all out, although Sander Berge has been back training and we think he might just sneak on the bench to give the whole squad a lift.
Up front, Rhian Brewster will surely get another go, probably alongside David McGoldrick. While in midfield, we hope to see John Lundstram left out again as Ben Osborn gets a run in the team.
Here, then, is our predicted XI for Sheffield United as they take on Brighton at Bramall Lane this evening.
