Sheffield United host Arsenal tomorrow looking once again to get a win under their belts and restore some pride in the red and white shirt.
Paul Heckingbottom’s men will be looking for a response after losing at Leeds last weekend. It was a game that ended 2-1, but in reality, our Yorkshire rivals should have seen us off by more.
United’s injury ravaged squad has been handed boosts in some areas while there are still question marks over the fitness of others.
Heckingbottom has confirmed that the club is monitoring both George Baldock and Jayden Bogle, who both have been placed under the concussion protocol following last week’s Elland Road trip.
Sticking in defence, John Egan should also return to the starting XI, giving Phil Jagielka a bit of a rest. Ethan Ampadu is also likely to start.
In midfield, however, it is still too early for Sander Berge which means another start looking likely for John Lundstram, who Heckingbottom has strangely defended in midweek.
Finally, Heckingbottom faces a choice up front again. He’s already mentioned Rhian Brewster could get more games between now and the end of the season. The young England under-21 man may well get the nod then tomorrow alongside David McGoldrick.
So, while the XI we want doesn’t include Lundstram and sees a change of formation, our predicted XI follows very much a similar script to that of the entire season.
