Sheffield United have been handed a double boost ahead of the season opener against Wolves next Monday.
The Blades kick-off their second Premier League campaign by hosting Nuno Santo’s men and will be looking for a repeat of their dramatic 1-0 victory just a few months ago at Bramall Lane.

And Chris Wilder has been boosted when it comes to his squad selection as it appears both Lys Mousset and Jack O’Connell will be fully-fit and raring to go in nine days’ time.
Mousset was withdrawn yesterday as the Blades drew 2-2 with Preston. However, Wilder confirmed following the game it was a precaution after he had his toe stood on and that ‘Moose’ will be just fine.

In terms of O’Connell, he has yet to feature in pre-season, but Wilder confirmed there is no issue regarding the defender and he will be fit and ready to play against Wolves.
“He’s with the conditioners and will get a clearance session, possibly Sunday morning, and then he will be in full-time training on Monday. He’s another one who has just had to get through and do the right thing,” Wilder told The Examiner.
“He missed a few days as well through the isolation, which wasn’t ideal, and he’s one of those players who is playing a little bit of catch-up, but Jack will be fine for the Wolves game.”
Having both players fit is a massive boost for the Blades boss. Furthermore, Wilder is expecting to make a number of new signings in the coming days.
Perfect timing and a welcome boost to proceedings – Our View
While the likelihood is we will see Mousset starting on the bench, having him at least available and ready to go is good news all around, especially, given our striking options.
We have yet to add in that position this summer and a lot of fans – and Wilder – will be hoping the coming days bear some fruit on that front.
In terms of O’Connell, he is simply vital. Jack Robinson has done well when needed but ‘JoC’ is our best defender on his day, with his relationship with Enda Stevens a vital one down the left.
