3-5-2: Sheffield United predicted XI v Liverpool, 3 changes, Burke starts

Things don’t get any easier for Sheffield United as they play host to Premier League champions Liverpool this weekend at Bramall Lane.

The Blades head into the game decimated by injury. The entire back three is out, while concerns still remain over the fitness of John Fleck despite him playing last time out at Fulham.

In attack, the combo of Billy Sharp and Oli McBurnie was relatively ineffective against the Cottagers, meaning another change up top could be likely.

David McGoldrick was up for media duties today, in a potential hint that ‘Didzy’ could be involved from the start. That would make sense, too, given how he drops deep to help out the midfield.

7 Players Who Had A Euros To Forget

Despite shouts for Wilder to change formation, he’s unlikely to defer from his trust 3-5-2, especially against a Liverpool side who play three in the middle themselves.

That could mean a recall for Oliver Burke up front as well. The Blades boss likely to want someone on the field who can stretch the Reds defence and get United high up the pitch.

Here, then, is our predicted Sheffield United XI, with three changes to the starting XI that began the game at Craven Cottage.
