Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has given an injury update on three players ahead of the weekend trip to Liverpool.
After confirming in his pre-match press conference that Jack O’Connell will indeed miss the whole season after having knee surgery, Wilder spoke about a trio he is expecting back a bit sooner.
Lys Mousset is yet to play this term because of a foot injury. John Fleck was injured during the most recent international break. Meanwhile, Max Lowe came off with concussion during the 1-1 draw with Fulham.
“Lys Mousset is looking to get back on the grass and is another six to eight weeks away,” Wilder was quoted by Yorkshire Live.
“John Fleck is out for the next month – so three big players are missing (along with O’Connell).

“We are waiting on Max Lowe for a doctor’s report for the injury he suffered on Sunday afternoon. That was disappointing for Max on his Premier League debut, because he has done well for us.”

After a disappointing start to the new campaign, things don’t get any easier for the Blades on Saturday with a trip to Anfield.
United are yet to win in 2020/21, losing four of their five league matches so far. Their first point and only their second goal came in the draw with the Cottagers.
Having Fleck and Mousset back would be a boost, but clearly that won’t be happening.
Wilder made his first major change to the defence in the match with the west London side. Enda Stevens switched from wing-back to left-sided centre-back to cover for O’Connell.
It was something Stevens did during the Championship promotion campaign in 2018/19. It meant Lowe was brought in on the flank, but it only lasted 19 minutes before his injury.
Jack Robinson replaced the 23-year-old, with Stevens moving back out to wing-back. It would be great if Lowe could be given more of an opportunity to show what he can do this time around.
