The mutual agreement between Warnock and the Bluebirds brings to an end a three-year spell. He leaves the club in the Championship, with Cardiff currently sitting in 14th place.
Warnock led the Bluebirds to an unlikely promotion just over a season ago and was unlucky not to keep them in the Premier League.
Despite putting up some solid performances, they couldn’t quite score enough goals. Subsequently, that lack of goals meant that Warnock couldn’t quite help them maintain their Premier League status.

The former Sheffield United and QPR manager is credited by many involved with the club in turning their fortunes around. On top of this, he was also in charge for the heartbreaking incident surrounding Emiliano Sala. Warnock gained credit and respect from those within the game for his handling of the situation. He was visibly upset when having to face the press on more than one occasion.
Loved by fans
People can say what they want about Neil Warnock but he gets results. And when he gets those results, the fans of whichever club he is doing well at, love him.
That seems to be the case with the Cardiff City fans. Plenty of them have taken to Twitter to have their say on the club parting ways with Warnock.
It’s safe to say that in the majority, Warnock has earned his keep when it comes to the Cardiff fans…
NW injected life into Cardiff for three years + it’s been incredible.. now though with the club showing signs of becoming stale, this is a wise decision. He leaves with integrity and credibility. Now for someone to get the ball rolling again.. let’s goooo <o> o/ <o>

I agree with the decision but Warnock should and will be remembered for reuniting the club, giving fans hope, premier league football and his handling of Sala ordeal. The last 3 months cannot take away those positives 🙂 Thank you Warnock a true Bluebird legend #BLUEBIRDS

As well as the generic praise for Warnock, it’s clear he had a big impact at the club. As with the above tweets, there was plenty more giving him credit for ‘rebuilding the club’…
Gutted, thanks for everything he’s done the last few years who know where th club would’ve ended up without him, personally think he should’ve stayed until the end of the season a few results go our way and we’re right back in it

Deserved gratitude
It’s great to see the Cardiff fans giving Warnock the respect he deserves. Too many times in his career he has been criticised when he’s hardly deserved it.

Most clubs who’ve had Warnock in charge have enjoyed some sort of success. Therefore, it’s brilliant to see the Cardiff fans taking the time out to thank a manager who did so much for the club.
