Sheffield United midfielder, Sander Berge, has hinted he could be back from injury sooner rather than later on his Instagram page.
The Norwegian ace has been out of action for the last few months. The £22m signing picking up a major injury just 12 minutes into United’s home clash with Manchester Utd in December.
Chris Wilder has recently said that the likes of Berge and Jack O’Connell are working their way back to fitness, albeit O’Connell appears to have had a number of setbacks.
But taking to his Instagram last night, Berge appeared to hint that he was on his way back with a simple post.
The Blades take on Aston Villa and then Southampton this week. Both games are at Bramall Lane, with the Blades looking to put an end to a four-match losing run.
Berge is unlikely to feature in any of those games. Chris Wilder admitting in his presser today he is down to the ‘bare bones’ in terms of his squad.
However, seeing the Norwegian near a return to action is a big boost as the Blades look to at least finish the season with some sort of form.
Sander Berge returning from injury a big boost for United
The season might be peetering out and heading towards relegation back to the Championship, but Wilder still wants to win games.
The Blades need one win to surpass Derby’s 11 point record low total at Premier League level. Surely, with 12 games to go, United will get that.
Having Berge back in the fold will help with that as well. The big midfielder was in fine form prior to getting injured. And while he might well leave come the summer, it would be nice for Blades fans to get another glimpse of the £22m man before the season finishes.
