Puscas is currently at the European Under-21 Championships with Romania. The 23-year-old scored the opener for his country in the recent 4-2 win over England.
Dean Henderson – who spent last season on loan at Bramall Lane from Manchester United – was helpless as Puscas converted from the penalty spot. The result eliminated the Three Lions from the tournament.
The Romanians, meanwhile, are through to the semi-finals and will face Germany later today.
Puscas is far from an up and coming youngster, though. He already has eight caps and four goals for the senior Romania side. The forward was also part of the Inter Milan setup from 2013 until his move to Palermo last summer.
Puscas only ever played seven times for Inter, but was a consistent scorer during his many loans – often in Serie B. He netted nine goals in Italy’s second tier in 2018/19.

Why George Puscas would join Sheffield United

A switch to the Premier League is likely to be very tempting for Puscas. The Blades can offer that after securing promotion from the Championship last term.
They are understood to be in the market for strikers with David McGoldrick and Billy Sharp currently their only options.
The South Yorkshire club have been linked with several names. However, the Sheffield Star reports that Swansea City’s Oli McBurnie is their top target.
McBurnie – who like Puscas is also 23 – scored 24 goals in all competitions last campaign. Neal Maupay of Brentford is another being considered.
Apparently Blades manager Chris Wilder is keen on Championship players he believes can make the step up. Yet that is not to say someone like Puscas wouldn’t interest him.
Especially as the attacker is still young and therefore has plenty of potential to improve.
