For all the talk of interest from Marseille in Iliman Ndiaye, it’s easy to forget that there are clubs in the Premier League who would happily take him.

After rejecting interest from Everton in January, United reaped the rewards of that decision as Ndiaye helped fire the Blades to promotion by hitting double figures in both goals and assists.

Of course, all the noise in the last week or two has been of a move to Marseille. The reports have dominated United fans’ thoughts, with suggestions the forward might even sign a new contract now.

However, The Athletic reports today that Nottingham Forest are also in the mix when it comes to Ndiaye.

After previously holding an interest in the United star, The Athletic claims that Forest are still keeping tabs on Ndiaye’s situation at Bramall Lane.

It’s claimed that manager Steve Cooper and the Reds’ recruitment team are big fans of the ‘unplayable‘ Ndiaye, and they see him as being able to have a similar impact to that of Morgan Gibbs-White.

Of course, Gibbs-White and Ndiaye starred for United the season before last. Had it not been for Forest, the duo could have had a chance in the Premier League together before now.

Sheffield United News View: Ndiaye to Forest would sting

There’s no real mention of any sort of bid here. But it’s clear that teams know all about Ndiaye and there’ll be more than just Forest who would take the Senegalese star.

However, while most United fans wouldn’t begrudge Ndiaye a big move, a switch to Forest would sting a tad.

Games between United and Forest have always been feisty but the playoff encounters recently left a sour taste in the mouth of many a Blade. Gibbs-White’s decision to move to the City Ground annoyed fans and he wasn’t even our player.

If Ndiaye somehow followed MGW, it would infuriate Blades fans.
