Sheffield United starlet, Kacper Lopata, has revealed he looks up to Ollie Norwood in training and insists the midfielder is ‘really impressive’.
Lopata, who gave an extended and in-depth interview to Angielskee Espresso this week, is hoping to break into the first-team in the coming months and possibly next season.
The 19-year-old defender was signed by Chris Wilder last summer. His move to Sheffield followed spells in Brighton and Bristol and Lopata reveals in the interview how Wilder played a key role in getting him to Sheffield.
And when asked who at Sheffield United has impressed him the most, Lopata insisted that experienced midfielder Norwood is impressive.
“Ollie Norwood, central midfielder. His technique, left leg, right leg, passing is how fast he plays. On TV it seems simple, but when you see it live, you respect it,” Lopata said.
“If someone never loses a ball and you always know you can give it to them, that is really impressive. All the more defenders. If I have problems, I give him the ball and he will solve them for me.”
Norwood has had a bit of an up and down season this year. By his own high standards, his performances have not quite been up the level expected.
However, it’s clear he’s a quality player and going into the Championship, he could be crucial. After all, Norwood has won three promotions from the division with three different teams.
It’s perhaps not that surprising, then, that Lopata is so impressed with the former Fulham star.
