Former Sheffield United duo, Jamal Blackman and Mo Besic, are both looking for new clubs after being released earlier today.
Both let go by Chelsea and Everton respectively, the pair will now be looking for permanent new homes in the summer.
Blackman spent the 17/18 campaign on loan with United and made 31 appearances. One of those was on the memorable 4-2 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Besica, meanwhile, arrived at Bramall Lane during United’s first season back in the Premier League. He made just the 13 appearances for the Blades. He also scored a fine goal away at Millwall in the FA Cup.

But both players will now be looking for pastures new. Blackman is 27 and has recently been with Rotherham. Besic, on the other hand, didn’t feature at all last season with Everton.
Besic’s name has been mentioned on more than one occasion by United fans when it comes to a potential return. The combative midfielder was well-liked by the Bramall Lane faithful.
Of course, any new signings will need to be sanctioned by Slavisa Jokanovic.
Sheffield United News View: Besic a potential signing but Blackman a no-go
There is every chance someone like Mo Besic does well in this Sheffield United team. He was well-liked before, and with Lundstram leaving and Berge expected to follow, Besic would be a solid addition.
A lot would depend on wages but he’d surely have to take a drop in his Premier League contract now anyway. Certainly, most Blades fans wouldn’t mind having the Bosnian back.
For Blackman, though, it’s another story. United are well stocked in the goalkeeper department. Wes Foderingham is the number two behind Ramsdale. Jake Eastwood, too, could also play a bigger role at the club.
So, while Blackman won’t be coming back for now, Besic is certainly one to keep an eye on as the summer develops.
