Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder appears to be staying where he is for now at least, amid rumours circulating online he could leave.
Twitter and social media in general have been in a frenzy over the last 24 hours after it emerged Wilder may have walked away from his boyhood club after failing to win a game all season.
With local media and national media both eerily quiet, United fans have been hitting the refresh all day to see if there is any sort of news emerging from the club.
And tonight, while still no official word from SUFC HQ, BBC Radio Sheffield moved to briefly address the rumours.
Reported by respected fansite, BladesMad, this evening, Radio Sheffield have apparently poured cold water on the rumours, insisting Wilder was at training today and there is no concrete evidence to suggest the Blades boss has walked.
The news will come as some form of relief for the majority of Unitedites, who are desperate – in the main – to see Wilder remain.
Wilder has taken United from League One to the Premier League and secured a ninth place finish last season.
He has been publically backed by the owner and chairman in recent weeks, while only hinted himself he would walk away if it wasn’t right for him or the football club anymore.
This news, then, should allow some United fans to breathe a little easier heading into the evening.
