The former Nottingham Forest star has struggled for minutes so far this season. His starts have been limited to cup competitions, although he has made the bench more often than not in the Premier League.

With the January window now up and running, there has been some talk about certain players leaving Bramall Lane. Naturally, given his lack of minutes, Osborn’s name has been mentioned amongst some fans.

However, Osborn has said he has no plans to move anywhere, instead, admitting he simply wants to keep working and be patient.

“My career is still on an upward incline. I’m at a better club and training with better players,” Osborn said (Sheffield Star).

“Now I’ve got to be patient. It’s been a test but hopefully, it makes me a better player in the long-run. It will certainly make me more hungry when I do get out there.”

Osborn started the weekend win over AFC Fylde. He filled in admirably for Enda Stevens at left wing-back and will be hopeful of getting some more minutes in the coming weeks.

His versatility – Osborn can play across the midfield – makes him an obvious bench option for Chris Wilder as things stand.

A good trend emerging

Ben Osborn is not the first player to quash rumours of a move this week. Fellow summer signing, Luke Freeman, has also admitted he is keen to stay and fight for his place.

It’s a good attitude coming out of the Blades squad and one which fans will be pleased to see. It was always going be difficult for certain players this season.

However, Chris Wilder seems to have everyone on board. It truly is a team effort at the moment and Wilder will be loving what he is hearing from some of his fringe players.
